Southwest Analytical Announces Expansion Of Coliform Testing Capacity

Southwest Analytical Inc., a leading environmental laboratory, today announced the expansion of total coliform testing capacity at its state-of-the-art facility in Las Vegas. The expansion enables the laboratory to analyze a higher volume of samples.

“The expansion of our coliform testing capacity allows us to handle a higher volume of samples and provide faster turnaround times to clients,” said Dr. Tom Gran, general manager and laboratory director for Southwest Analytical. “We are excited to be one of the only laboratories in Las Vegas certified for total coliform testing. There is a high demand for it in this market and now we are equipped to meet that demand.”

The expansion developed after the EPA announced major airline agreements to perform coliform testing on their airplanes’ potable water sources. Two of the airlines have Las Vegas hubs. Shortly thereafter, a medical laboratory announced they would discontinue analyzing environmental samples after Dec. 1, 2005 and directed their clients to Southwest Analytical.

“We reviewed our capacity and the local demand for total coliform testing,” said David Faircloth, client services manager. “Expanding our capacity allows us to provide our clients with the service they need and positions us for future growth.”
